13 Dec Introducing our new Head of Upper Years – Dr Arvindanabha Shukla
A warm Woodstock School welcome to our new Head of Upper Years. Dr Arvindanabha Shukla is a passionate educator with more than 25 years of experience in a residential school setting, as Teacher, Tutor, Housemaster, Head of Department and Director of Sports and Outdoor Pursuits. Dr Shukla, pictured above centre with students at the Festival of Ideas, comes to us from Doon School. He holds a Ph.D. in Sanskrit. Dr Shukla is also an avid mountaineer and a leader in outdoor education. He has successfully led thirty-one student mountaineering and outdoor expeditions in thirty years. Dr Shukla joined us on campus last week, and will take on his full responsibilities as Head of Upper Years in the new semester.
“I am delighted to be a part of Woodstock School as my ideology of education completely matches with Woodstock’s philosophy of education,” says Dr Shukla. “The whole community have been very welcoming and I really look forward to spending more time with our students, both in school and the glorious Himalayan environment that surrounds us.”
