24 May This Week’s Senior Spotlight 2016
The Class of 2016 is over owing with bright, talented and passionate students. Here are a few of their stories this week as we prepare to come to an end of the year.
Rishi
@ Woodstock since 2010
Career Ambition:
I want to become an Investment Banker. I would also like to become a financial consultant at some point in my life. Financial and economic forces are omnipresent and have a major influence in the systems that we live in. My dream is to be a significant influence to these systems.
Where next?
I will be attending The University of Southern California. They have a great business program and the campus is exactly what I am looking for. I’m excited to get started and be one step closer to my dreams.
Most memorable Woodstock experience?
Performing at Lincoln Center in New York with my fellow A Capella members was an unforgettable experience. To perform with friends and classmates at a venue of that magnitude was an awe inspiring.
Marina
@ Woodstock since 2010
Career Ambition:
At the moment, my big dream is to be a political journalist. I really enjoy writing and feel very passionate about it. With help from Woodstock community, I discovered my interest in politics. The relationships between different countries, the reaction of the citizens and the way that media observes the events; it all fascinates me. I feel that this is a field where I can be useful with the skills that I possess and hopefully serve some greater good.
Where next?
It was a difficult choice, but I have decided to go to Emory University in the US. Emory’s educational approach is marvellous and they have a great international community, which is something that I must have in my life after Woodstock. I’m excited to meet new friends and be introduced to a completely new environment. Yet, strangely enough, I feel that the most exciting thing after the graduation will be meeting my Woodstock friends outside of Woodstock.
Most memorable Woodstock experience?
I would say that it was the last game of my last Win Mumby tournament. Although we were already out of the tournament, my team truly did their best. Before the game we had a team meeting and our coach, Mr. L, said that the plan for the game is MAM: Mayuri, Aditi and Marina – the seniors on the team. Every second of that game was unreal and magical. The support that we got from the team, students and the teachers was beyond all limits. I feel that this moment has within it all that I feel about Woodstock community. The trust, support and love that we receive here will not be found anywhere else in the world.
